In dealing with small business IT support for almost 30 years we have identified a unique individual in most of these organizations that we call “The Reluctant CIO”. Who is the “Reluctant CIO?” They are usually the owner, operator, manager, CEO, VP Operations, or anyone in a small company that is somehow tasked with managing the organization’s technology. In most cases they don’t volunteer for this job but somehow by default they have received it. In our “Reluctant CIO” blog we will attempt to define some of the challenges and opportunities faced by our owner/operators as they navigate through a fast moving technology landscape and decisions they face to keep their company current, secure and productive in today’s competitive environment. Stay tuned for future posts………….
